Tickets are on sale now and are going fast for the 2019 Martin Truex Jr. Foundation Catwalk for a Cause on Wednesday, May 15 at the Statesville (N.C.) Regional Airport. We’re celebrating 10 years of raising awareness, funds and most importantly, honoring our Catwalk Heroes fighting cancer.
“I cannot believe we’re planning our 10th Catwalk for a Cause,” said Sherry Pollex, foundation vice president and co-founder of Catwalk. “To think we began in a country club with 50 guests and now we are up to over 600! So much has happened during that time and it’s still hard to imagine how far we’ve come — raising $7,000 our first night to $600,000 in 2018. It fills my heart with joy and I can’t wait to see what we can accomplish on our 10th anniversary. It’s going to be special for so many people.”
Catwalk for a Cause is co-founded by Martin Truex Jr., NASCAR driver of the No. 19 Bass Pro Shops Toyota Camry. The event will once again take place just days ahead of the All-Star race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. This year’s theme is still underwraps with tickets slated to go on sale starting February 1.
Funds raised will once again support cancer initiatives at Atrium Health and Novant Health in Charlotte, N.C., as well as helping drive awareness, boost advocacy, and generate financial support for underfunded cancer research initiatives specific to ovarian and childhood cancers.
The MTJ Foundation is in the building process of two projects with Novant Health. First, the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation Children’s Emergency Department in Huntersville, N.C. Second, the SherryStrong Integrative Oncology Clinic in Charlotte, N.C.
