The second-annual Catwalk for a Cause fashion show benefitting the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation (MTJF), raised more than $25,000 on May 17, 2011; bringing the show’s fundraising total to more than $40,000 raised in its two-year existence.
“This was an incredible night for Sherry and me. We are so proud of everyone at the MTJF Foundation for all of their hard work and were humbled by the amount of support we received from our community, friends and peers in the NASCAR Industry.” said Truex. “All the proceeds from this year’s event will go towards a special needs fund that we created at Levine Children’s Hospital, so having some of those kids in the runway show made it even more special.” Funding will be provided for deserving patients and families of children being treated at Levine Children’s Hospital who need assistance to pay for necessary medical services, supplies and special programs. “We hope to grow this fund every year, to the point where we are able to help hundreds of families and their children that are treated at Levine’s every year,” said Truex.
