The Martin Truex Jr Foundation (MTJF), along with Sprint Cup driver Martin Truex Jr., are teaming up with the Philly Pretzel Factory of Mooresville, NC to raise funds for the Martin Truex Jr. foundation. Foundation Executive Director Kelly Janow and Foundation Coordinator Dawn Hines will be spending this Wednesday afternoon at the Philly Pretzel Factory twisting specialty pretzels in the shape of the foundation's trademark little fish. Tyler, who recently went through an emergency appendectomy after an accident on a four-wheeler, noted how good the stuffed animal he received from the hospital where he was treated made him feel, and began collecting teddy bears and other stuffed animals for children in the same spot.
When he heard about Martin Truex Jr.’s foundation collecting stuffed animals for abused children, he set to work collecting as many as he could to give to Truex.

04.25.08 - Truex Takes Part In Oprah's BIG GIVE (see the Press Release: Click Here)
Truex finds himself amid other things while fielding questions about his contract negotiations this weekend; but none as unlikely as being a part of Oprah's "BIG GIVE." The 27-year old NJ native was one of the first to step up to the plate to answer the call to help local Charlotte ABC affiliate WSOC-TV with their Oprah challenge as part of her now famous, BIG GIVE TV series. After receiving $10,000.00 from Oprah's show, WSOC-TV challenged local businesses to donate items to fill back packs of almost 1,500 children in the Charlotte area through the Second Harvest Metrolina Food Bank. The driver and his staff at the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation quickly donated diecast, hero cards and sought cash and product donations from other drivers in the NASCAR Community. The station has garnered almost $40,000 to date, so much that Oprah's staff chose the top-3 ABC affiliates across the country that raised the most money and gave them another $30,000 to see how far they could take their giving. Other drivers have stepped up to the challenge with pallets of Gatorade, board games, books, and canned goods for the kids. A little giving in our own backyard could do us all a little good. The NASCAR Foundation will be celebrating the fifth-annual celebration of NASCAR Day on Friday, May 16th and we need your help to make this the best year yet! Annually held on the Friday before the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Challenge, NASCAR Day is a one-day celebration of the NASCAR Spirit. NASCAR fans, corporations, schools and organizations across the country are encouraged to donate $5.00 and all participants will receive a collectable 2008 NASCAR Day lapel pin for their donation.

01.31.08 - Martin Truex Jr. Foundation - Helping children in Need hosted an OnLine Red Kettle for the Salvation Army during the 2007 Holiday Season. Martin's fans donated $2860.00 and the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation matched the funds that were donated to NC and NJ. The Martin Truex Jr Foundation issued a check to the Salvation Army in the amount of $2670.00 Thanks to our fans and friends The Salvation Army received total funds from the MTJF Kettle in the amount of $5,530.00. The Martin Truex Jr Foundation would like to thank everyone that donated funds to the Red Kettle. This fund raiser was very successful and touch a lot of families during the holiday season. 10.04.07 - The Martin Truex Jr. Foundation launched their first campaign on July 20th called "Lil' Bears for Lil' Kids". The foundation collected 812 stuffed animals from Martin's fans. The animals will be donated to the Dove House www.dovehouse.us where they will give children a sense of hope, love and security. The Martin Truex Jr. would like to thank everyone that participated by sending a stuffed animal for the children of the Dove House.
07.23.07 - The Martin Truex Jr. Fan Club will be hosting an event at Dale Earnhardt Inc. sometime during the week of the October Lowe's race. We are in the planning stages of this event. More information will be released during the first week of August and tickets will go on sale soon after that announcement.
